The Commerce and Industry Correspondents Association of Nigeria (CICAN) has announced the sudden demise of Mr Johnmark Ukoko, one of its stalwart members and an exco-officer.
He died on Monday, May 13th 2024.
Until his death, Johnmark Ukoko was a staff of the National News.
In a statement, the National Chairman of the CICAN, Mr Charles Okonji, said that Johnmark Ukoko was a member of the association for more than two decades, had held various positions, and was regarded as one of the most productive and vibrant members and dedicated his life to the services of the Association.
The statement reads: The history of the successful reporting recorded in the commerce and industry sector in the country today will not be complete without mentioning his positive contributions.

Johnmark was a workaholic who was passionate about the growth of the association and the industrial sector at large.
Johnmark Ukoko, through his write-ups, has contributed immensely to the agenda-setting for the development of the commerce and industry sector of the country’s economy.
The vacuum he left behind, would be felt for a longer period.
“The association is working with his family towards giving him a befitting burial as the date of the burial would be communicated soonest to the public.”
