Prof Nnanyelugo Martin Ike-Muonso, the new  Director – General and Chief Executive Officer of the Raw Materials Research and Development Council (RMRDC), says that the first of his goals is  repositioning the Council as a globally competitive player in raw materials development.

The DG stated this during a two-day strategic goal setting session with senior management staff of the Council in Abuja.

The DG said that this was in line with President Bola Tinubu Renewed Hope Agenda on sustainable industrial development and economic growth in Nigeria.

Prof. Ike-Muonso reminded participants drawn from Directorate cadre and Heads of Divisions that RMRDC occupies a critical position in Nigeria’s economic and industrial development aspirations.

He emphasized that the Council must begin to take its rightful place in the nation’s quest for rapid economic growth and development as well as strategically position itself as a key player in the globally competitive raw materials marketplace.

Prof Ike-Muonso pointed out that RMRDC has what it takes in terms of skilled manpower, dedicated workforce and a robust legal framework to achieve these goals and objectives.

He urged the staff to embrace the new paradigm in their way of thinking and attitude to work and excellent service delivery, noting that it will not be business as usual.

The two-day strategic goal setting session had experts drawn from the academia and industry engaged with staff on creating a practical and measurable roadmap for the Council that will propel it to optimal achievement of its visions.
