Dangote Cement Plc is adding 9 million metric tons (MTA) annual capacity to bring its combined outputs in Nigeria and in other African countries to 61 MTA.
The company’s Chairman, Aliko Dangote, disclosed this during the 2024 annual general meeting held in Lagos.
Dangote told the shareholders and the directors that of the nine million MTA, they are in the process to commission a 3MTA grinding plant in Cote D’Ivoire, and a 6 MTA integrated plant at Itori in Ogun State, as well as acquiring 3,000 compressed natural gas (CNG) trucks to reduce the costs and environmental impact.

Dangote Cement remains the leading cement producer in Africa, with a total capacity of 52.0 million metric tons per annum across the continent.
Seventy (70) percent of this production occurs within Nigeria, with the Obajana plant in Kogi State representing the largest production facility in Africa, accounting for 16.25 million metric tons per annum.
