An indigenous Nigerian firm, Mangal Cement Limited, has rolled out the first bags of cement from it’s brand-new $1.5 billion plant at Iluagba, Kogi State.

The Chairman of the company,  Alhaji Dahiru Mangal, said that the new cement plant has capaciry to produce  6000t/day of cement, and provides 10,000 direct and indirect jobs.

The facility built by China-based Sinoma International Engineering, employ the latest technology and adhere to the highest environmental standards.


Industrial Times learned that works started on the green field cement plant  in November 2021, and completed in the the first quarter of 2024.

Initially budgeted at $600 million,  the costs ballooned to $1.5 billion at the end of the project
