” My official vehicle as a Minister of the Federal Republic is assembled in Nigeria by Mikano Motors, a personal decision to lead by example.”That’s Senator John Owen Enoh, the Minister of State for Industry, Trade and Investment.”
During an appearance on Arise News this morning and at the Future Investment Initiative (FII) in Riyadh, he said : ” I have consistently reiterated the need to promote Nigeria’s industrial development, local content, and economic diversification.
“I have often said that our problem as a nation is not the absence of sound policies, but the lack of implementation. Leadership must demonstrate commitment through action, and I believe in showing that by supporting what we produce.
The success of the Nigeria First Policy depends on all of us, leaders and citizens believing in, producing, and patronising what is ours.
And for me, driving a Made-in-Nigeria car is not just symbolic it reflects my conviction that the only sustainable path to economic growth is through confidence in our own potential.
I am confident that very soon other public office holders will also drive Made-in-Nigeria cars in line with Nigeria’s first policy.
Let me note here that, our Nigeria Industrial Policy, already finalised and awaiting Federal Executive Council (FEC) approval, will transform the industrial landscape, spur innovation, and create jobs for our people.”
