This was the outcome of a working visit by Afreximbank’s President and Chairman of the Board of Directors, Dr George Elombi, to the Comptroller-General of Customs (CGC), Adewale Adeniyi, at the Customs Headquarters in Abuja.
The Presidency says the bodies allegedly used by Adeyemi—including the so-called Presidential Economic Advisory Council, Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council, and Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council—do not exist as government agencies.
Chief Executive Officer, APM Terminals Nigeria, Frederik Klinke, noted that the appointment reflects the company’s commitment to leadership development and long-term growth.
The initiative aimed to promote environmental sustainability, reduce carbon emissions and encourage the importation of cleaner vehicles into the country, in line with global environmental standards.
“They should utilise the equipment judiciously to better their lives. They are not supposed to sell them. They are expected to use them for their daily livelihoods so that in another year or two, they will also be able to empower somebody else.”
